Taking me back to those underage drinking years in Wallingford and roundabout, the beer has an immediate fresh fruit hit - restrained and gentle and then quickly followed by a light and dry hop bitterness. The malt taste in the Brakspear matures over time - it starts quite light, almost lemony, then becomes quite warm and savoury as the pint progresses, salt coming in along with some seaweed.
